Making a Little Extra Cash - Selling on Facebook Marketplace

Are you looking to make a little extra cash very easily? One way to do that is by selling on Facebook Marketplace. I recently started going through my stuff (because I have a lot of it) and decided to list it on Marketplace. And to my surprise my extra stuff sells very easily.

Most of us have clothes that we do not wear, that we never got around to returning or things that just got shoved to the back of the closet. I am sure you also have other little gadgets and accessories laying around that you have no use for or never used. If you find this to be true, then go sell it. It beats it sitting in the closet or the drawer forever.

Tips on how to become a good Marketplace seller:

  1. Make sure that what you are selling is in good condition. If the condition is not great, be sure to clearly note this in your ad because you want to get a good rating, and product description is something you are rated on.
  2. Do not overprice. There are so many people selling on Marketplace and if you want your product to sell, you have to be competitive in your pricing.
  3. Engage your customers. If somebody asks a question, quickly respond. Also keep them updated on the status of their order.
  4. Renew your listings when they expire. You will not always sell your things right away, but keep up with renewing and relisting your items.
  5. Be okay with lowering the price. If you have not received many clicks on your ad, consider dropping the price a dollar or two, it may make a difference.
They do offer local pickup/drop-off and shipping. You can choose just local pickup/drop-off, just shipping, or both. I opt for shipping only because I do not have the time to meet up for local pickup.

For the shipping option all you need is a printer and you are set. You can have Marketplace create the label for you and all you do is print it out, attach it to your package and put it in the mailbox for your postal person to pick up. It is so simple. You can either cover the shipping cost yourself or you can have the customer pay for shipping. All the options are there for you, you just have to click a button and if you opt for the customer to pay, it is automatically added to the price when the customer checks out.

I bought these shipping bags for $10 and there are 100 bags included so the cost of shipping supplies is minimal. These bags are great for shipping clothes, shoes and other non fragile items. If you need bubble mailers you can choose from a wide variety of colors and sizes here.

If you do not have a printer, right now this Cannon printer is 30% off and less than $50.

Selling stuff you already have is a great way to make some money, but you can also use Marketplace to start your own little business once you are accustomed to how it works and what sells the best for you. I have even purchased items to resell on Marketplace. I enjoy it, it is fun easy and a good way to put some extra mula in your pocket!
